Oshima Ferry Pet Rebooked Departure Bus After-Exit Lodging Morning Route Restart First Check Mismatch Guide
Short answer: If the first restart check on Izu Oshima does not match the corrected note, stop the restart from a safe side point, keep the pet carrier and luggage controlled, and re-confirm the live cue, port, route, boarding stage, ticket or pet proof, weather, and next endpoint with the source that controls that checkpoint.
Last checked: August 25, 2026. Ferry operation status, port choice, bus operation, taxi availability, lodging pickup, checkout timing, waiting-place permission, pet rules, staff messages, announcements, display changes, weather, warnings, road conditions, vehicle drop-off points, counter replies, payment handling, terminal access, boarding procedures, and local conditions can change. Always follow current Tokai Kisen, JMA, Oshima Tourism Association, Izu Oshima Navi, terminal, lodging, driver, and local staff guidance.

A Second Mismatch Still Matters
It is easy to trust a note because it was corrected only a moment ago. On Izu Oshima, ferry ports, boarding stages, bus stops, pickup points, and weather-sensitive routes can still change while you are moving.
If the first restart check does not match the corrected note, treat it as a new mismatch. Stop the restart before you enter a line, road, vehicle area, counter flow, gate, or exposed outdoor segment.
Step Back To A Side Point
Move out of the main flow first. Do not solve the mismatch in a doorway, counter lane, boarding path, gate mouth, bus queue, taxi space, road edge, vehicle lane, luggage stream, stair edge, or shelter pinch point.
Keep the pet carrier closed, level, ventilated, and visible. Pull bags close, keep documents together, and make sure your phone is usable before asking again.
Ask What Changed
The best second question is specific: “What changed from this note?” Show the corrected note or screen and ask which part is now different.
Separate the answer into one changed item: port, counter, gate, line, bus stop, vehicle, driver, lodging contact, time, ticket, pet proof, carrier instruction, luggage point, weather, or next checkpoint.
Re-Check Ferry And Port
Tokai Kisen’s operation-status page is the current ferry reference and advises users to refresh before checking listed information. It also notes that Oshima has two ports and that outward and return ports may differ.
Oshima Tourism Association explains that Okada Port and Motomachi Port are used depending on sea conditions and that the departure port is not known until the day itself. If the mismatch involves port, sailing, counter, gate, or line, use the current official or staff cue over the old note.
Re-Check Boarding Stage
Tokai Kisen’s boarding-flow page says boarding procedures should be completed early and warns that reservations may be forfeited if procedures are not completed 15 minutes before departure. Boarding begins after the boarding commencement is announced, and tickets are handed over at the boarding gate.
A stage mismatch can look like a line forming before your note says to move, a counter instruction after your note says to wait, or a gate cue before your documents are ready. Ask which stage is current before joining the flow.
Re-Check Pet And Carrier Instructions
Tokai Kisen’s pet page says pets must be in a cage or basket within the stated size limit with face and body not visible. It says open tote-style bags cannot be accepted, and pet-ticket purchase is handled at the counter by showing the passenger ticket and stating the destination.
If the mismatch touches passenger ticket, pet ticket, destination, carrier condition, counter, waiting place, or queue instruction, stop and confirm. Do not open the carrier or move into a tighter line unless current staff instructions clearly support that action.
Re-Check Weather Before Exposure
JMA’s forecast-services explanation includes weather, winds, coastal ocean waves, temperatures, and precipitation probability, and its warning and advisory pages are the official place to check hazardous weather conditions.
If the first restart check sends you outdoors but wind, rain, heat, visibility, waves, or road conditions no longer match the note, ask for a sheltered waiting point or a safer route.
Re-Check Local Transport Separately
Oshima Tourism Association lists local transport options including buses, taxis, rental cars, rental motorcycles, and rental bicycles, and notes practical taxi limitations. Izu Oshima Navi provides local transport and route-search context, including caution that the two-port situation can affect bus timetable display.
If the mismatch is about a bus stop, taxi, pickup point, vehicle, driver, road direction, or lodging transfer, confirm that local transport item directly. Do not assume a ferry correction also corrected the bus or pickup part.
Reset The Restart Note
After the second confirmation, replace the corrected note with a new short line. Do not keep both old and new versions visible unless you clearly mark one as canceled.
The new restart note should name the live cue, changed item, confirmed action, current person or contact, time, documents, pet proof, carrier state, luggage state, weather check, and next checkpoint.
Restart First Check Mismatch Checklist
- Stop the restart if the first check no longer matches the corrected note.
- Step back to a safe side point before asking or reading the screen again.
- Keep the carrier closed, level, ventilated, visible, and away from doors, wheels, feet, counters, gates, roads, and vehicle paths.
- Ask what changed from the corrected note and identify one changed item at a time.
- Refresh or recheck Tokai Kisen operation status when ferry, port, sailing, counter, or gate information matters.
- Use JMA warnings, advisories, and forecasts before exposed waiting or outdoor movement.
- Confirm local transport separately when bus stop, taxi, pickup, vehicle, road direction, or lodging transfer information differs.
- Replace the corrected note with a new live restart note before moving again.
