Oshima Hama-no-yu by Bus Guide

Motomachi Hama-no-yu is the simple open-air hot-spring stop near Motomachi Port: close enough for a short walk, scenic enough to feel like an island reward, and current-info-sensitive enough that you should check the official page before building your day around it.

Quick Answer

Use Motomachi Port as the bus stop, then walk about 3 minutes. Oshima Town’s official page lists Hama-no-yu at Motomachi aza Tonchi-bata 882 and gives the same practical access: 3 minutes on foot from Motomachi Port.

Oshima Bus’s sightseeing page lists Motomachi Hama-no-yu on the Oshima Park Line, Habu Port Line, and Miharayama Line, with Motomachi Port as the stop. That makes the bath easiest to pair with a Motomachi arrival, a west-side walk, or a short reset before returning to your ship or lodging.

Hours, Weather, And Rules

As checked on August 21, 2026, Oshima Town listed Hama-no-yu hours as 13:00 to 19:00, with July and August hours from 11:00 to 19:00. The town page says the bath is open year-round, but closure or shorter hours may happen because of weather.

This is not an indoor public bath. The official page says Hama-no-yu is mixed-gender, so swimsuit use is required. It also says there is no indoor bath, and that showers are available in gender-separated changing rooms for after bathing. Oshima Bus adds that swimsuit rental is available if you do not have one, but rental availability should still be checked on the day.

Fees And Passport Choice

The official fee image listed adult admission at 300 yen and child admission at 150 yen as checked on August 21, 2026. The same fee image listed 12-ticket books at 3,000 yen for adults and 1,500 yen for children.

If you also plan to use Island Center Gojinka Onsen, check the three-day passport. The fee image listed it at 1,520 yen for adults and 710 yen for children, valid for three days including the purchase date and shared with Gojinka Onsen. The child rate applies to junior-high-school age or younger, disability certificate holders and bathing attendants, and people age 70 or older.

Bus Planning

Use Oshima Bus’s current route-bus page for the timetable files. As checked on August 21, 2026, the route-bus page showed a timetable period of July 1 to September 30, 2026 and linked the route-bus timetable, island map, route map, fare table, and riding guide.

For travelers making several bus moves in one day, Oshima Bus listed one-day passes at 2,500 yen for adults and 1,250 yen for children, and two-day passes at 3,800 yen for adults and 1,900 yen for children, valid on all routes. If you only need Motomachi Port plus nearby walking, a pass may not be necessary; compare it with your full day’s bus plan.

Payment And Small-Cash Notes

Oshima Bus’s FAQ says Suica and PASMO are not accepted on route buses, while cash and PayPay are accepted. It also says on-bus change is available for 50 to 500 yen coins and 1,000 yen notes. Carry small cash, especially if you are moving between ship, bus, and bath on a tight schedule.

For the bath itself, the town page warns that fees may change and should be confirmed in advance. Bring a swimsuit plan, a towel plan, and a weather backup. Because Oshima Bus says the facility faces the coast and may close in strong wind or bad weather, do not leave it as your only evening plan.

Before You Go Checklist

  • Check the latest Hama-no-yu hours and weather closure notice.
  • Bring or rent a swimsuit; the bath is mixed-gender.
  • Bring a towel plan and small cash.
  • Confirm the current Oshima Bus timetable to or from Motomachi Port.
  • Compare single bus fares with the one-day or two-day pass only after mapping your full route.
