Oshima Okada Port Arrival Bus Transfer Guide

Short answer: If your ship arrives at Okada Port, start by confirming today’s port and then move straight into Oshima Bus planning. Okada Port is a real gateway, but Oshima uses both Okada and Motomachi, so the first rule is never assume the port until official operation information says so.

Last checked: August 21, 2026. Ship arrival/departure ports, operation status, bus timetables, early-arrival connections, fares, pass sales, baggage rules, and payment rules can change. Always check official pages before travel.

Why Okada Port Matters

Tokyo Oshima Branch says Okada Port is in northern Oshima. It also explains the island’s two-port system: Okada Port and Motomachi Port are used differently for large regular ships depending on wind direction.

That one fact changes the whole first-hour plan. A hotel, rental-car pickup, bus route, or sightseeing start that works from Motomachi Port may feel different from Okada Port. Before you decide where to stand in the terminal, confirm which port your ship is actually using.

Check The Ship First

Tokai Kisen’s operation-status information says large passenger ship information is updated after 09:00 on the day, with final decision planned around 17:00, while high-speed jet ferry decisions are around 06:00. Tokai Kisen’s Oshima information also says the port is decided as Motomachi Port or Okada Port depending on sea conditions.

Use the Tokai Kisen operation-status page before leaving for the pier, again before arrival, and before your return trip. Do not build an itinerary that only works if the ship uses one specific port.

Bus Routes At Okada

Oshima Bus lists Okada Port on the Oshima Park Line and the Mt. Mihara Line. Its sightseeing page gives the bus stop as Okada Port and says the walk from the stop is zero minutes. That makes Okada a clean transfer point when the bus you need is timed to the ship.

Oshima Bus also says that, for early large-passenger-ship arrival around 6:00, connection buses are prepared for multiple directions, including via Oshima Park toward Onsen Hotel. The same page asks passengers to move to the bus stop promptly after disembarking. In plain travel terms: do not linger too long for photos before checking the bus line.

Arrival Logic

If you are heading to Oshima Park, airport-side stops, or the north/east side, Okada Port can be convenient. If your plan depends on Motomachi-area baths, restaurants, or accommodation, check whether the bus connection fits before assuming you can walk.

Oshima Bus showed a timetable period from July 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026 when checked. For a same-day transfer, open the current bus timetable, identify the line from Okada Port, and leave a buffer for luggage, restroom stops, ship delays, rain, and crowded boarding.

Fares And Payment

When checked, Oshima Bus listed a one-day pass at 2,500 yen for adults and 1,250 yen for children, and a two-day pass at 3,800 yen for adults and 1,900 yen for children, valid on all routes. These can be useful if Okada Port is only the start of a multi-stop bus day.

The Oshima Bus FAQ says Suica, PASMO, and other IC cards are not accepted. Cash and PayPay are accepted, and on-bus change is available only for 50 to 500 yen coins and 1,000 yen notes. Carry small cash before boarding, especially if you arrive with luggage and a line behind you.

Best Fit

  • Choose this guide when your ferry or jet ferry uses Okada Port.
  • Check Tokai Kisen operation status before assuming Okada or Motomachi.
  • Use Oshima Park Line and Mt. Mihara Line checks as the first bus-planning layer.
  • Move promptly after early large-ship arrival if you need a connection bus.
  • Carry small cash and confirm PayPay, fare passes, luggage rules, and return port before boarding.
