Confirm The Next-Day Ferry Before You Pack Around It

The page also says large-passenger-ship information is generally updated after 09:00 with final decisions around 17:00, while high-speed jet ferry decisions are generally made around 06:00.

Tokai Kisen’s pet page says pets must be inside a cage or basket no more than 45cm per side, with the whole body inside and no face or body visible. The same page says large passenger ships have pet rooms, while jet ferries accept only pets that fit within the 45cm cage or basket.

Your overnight kit should protect that boarding rule: compliant carrier, water, food, medication, cleanup bags, towel, wet wipes, absorbent sheet if you use one, and a quiet cloth that does not block ventilation. Keep the kit outside the main suitcase. The goal is not to make the pet travel more often; it is to avoid opening the carrier repeatedly because supplies are buried.

Split Luggage Into Morning, Counter, And Checked-Out Bags

When a ferry plan moves to the next day, the suitcase often becomes the problem. Split it into three zones. The morning zone has clothes, toiletries, charger, pet supplies, and checkout essentials. Oshima Bus’s FAQ says pets may be brought only if they are small breeds and inside a cage. It also says Suica, PASMO, and other IC cards are not accepted; cash or PayPay is accepted, and change is limited to 50-500 yen coins and 1,000 yen notes.
