Oshima Ferry Pet Rebooked Departure Phone-Battery Recovery Guide

Short answer: If your phone battery is low after rebooking an Oshima ferry with a pet, use the remaining battery for the tasks that can break the trip: current port confirmation, reservation details, counter timing, taxi calls, bus timetable checks, PayPay, pet information, and baggage questions. Save the essentials offline or on paper before the phone becomes the problem.

Last checked: August 25, 2026. Ferry operation status, port choice, contact numbers, reservation handling, pet-ticket handling, bus timetables, PayPay, taxi availability, phone signal, charging availability, weather, and sea conditions can change. Always follow current Tokai Kisen, Oshima Bus, taxi-company, terminal, lodging, and local staff guidance.

Use Battery For Port Confirmation First

Tokai Kisen’s operation-status page asks users to refresh before checking and says Oshima uses both Motomachi Port and Okada Port. Arrival and departure ports may differ. Tokai Kisen’s contact page also lists 04992-2-5522 for same-day Oshima arrival and departure port guidance and for local Oshima guidance.

If the battery is low, do this before anything decorative: confirm the current port, screenshot the status, write the port name on paper, and save the phone number. A beautiful map route to the wrong port is worse than a simple handwritten note to the right one.

Save Reservation And Counter Details Offline

Tokai Kisen’s boarding-flow page says prepayment vouchers must be exchanged for tickets at the counter on the day of departure, boarding procedures should be completed early, and a reservation may be forfeited if procedures are not completed 15 minutes before departure. Boarding cards are required.

Before the phone drops below a comfortable level, write down or screenshot the reservation number, passenger name, destination, departure time, current port, and any pet or baggage questions. If the counter needs information, you do not want the only copy locked behind a dead battery.

Do Not Let PayPay Become The Only Plan

Oshima Bus’s FAQ says Suica, PASMO, and other IC cards are not accepted, while cash or PayPay is accepted. It also says change is available only for 50-500 yen coins and 1,000 yen notes, and small pets may ride only if inside a cage.

PayPay may be useful, but it is phone-dependent. If battery or signal is shaky, set aside cash for bus movement before you leave the waiting base. Keep small bills and coins reachable, because the bus payment moment is a bad time to search through luggage while managing a pet carrier.

Call While You Still Can

Oshima Tourism Association says taxis do not cruise, night service is very limited, most taxis wait at ports or the airport, and travelers should inquire by phone. Izu Oshima Navi lists taxi companies and also directs travelers to phone inquiries. If taxi is part of the recovery, make the call before the phone reaches emergency level.

Use a short call script: current location, target port, ferry time, pet in a closed carrier, luggage count, payment method, and latest safe pickup time. If a taxi is not confirmed quickly, stop spending battery on repeated calls and ask nearby staff for the next official option.

Keep Pet Information Ready

Tokai Kisen’s pet page says pets must be inside a cage or basket no more than 45cm per side, and internet-reservation passengers should communicate reservation number, name, pet type, pet count, people count, and size. Tokai Kisen’s FAQ also says the pet’s face and body parts should not be visible and crew instructions should be followed.

Write those pet details down or keep them in a screenshot. The pet carrier should stay closed and compliant while you solve phone, ticket, bus, taxi, and payment issues.

Phone-Battery Recovery Checklist

  1. Refresh Tokai Kisen status and save the current Motomachi or Okada port.
  2. Write down 04992-2-5522 for same-day Oshima port guidance.
  3. Save reservation number, passenger name, departure time, and destination offline.
  4. Screenshot or write down pet type, pet size, carrier status, and baggage questions.
  5. Check Oshima Bus route and fare needs before signal or battery drops further.
  6. Prepare cash before relying on PayPay.
  7. Call taxi or lodging while enough battery remains for a clear conversation.
  8. Ask terminal or counter staff early if your phone is close to dying.
