Confirm The Ship Before You Buy The Pet Ticket
Tokai Kisen’s operation-status page says users should refresh the page before checking and shows Oshima ship type, port, operation status, and notes. It also warns that Oshima has two ports, Okada Port and Motomachi Port, and that arrival and departure ports may differ.

Keep the passenger ticket, prepayment voucher, reservation number, and payment method ready before you reach the counter. If you have a voucher, Tokai Kisen says it must be exchanged for a ticket on the departure day at the counter. Tell the staff about the pet before the ticket step is finished, because the pet ticket, carrier rule, and ship type all need to line up.

Tokai Kisen displays pet-ticket fare tables by route and says the listed fares include tax. On the checked page, the table includes Tokyo-Oshima, Atami-Oshima, and other routes, but the practical rule is simple: do not memorize an old number from a blog, screenshot, or previous trip. Check the current Tokai Kisen pet page or ask the counter for the route you are actually using.
This is especially important if a disruption changes the return route, departure port, or ship. A pet fare is small compared with the cost of missing the ferry, but a wrong assumption at the counter can cost you time when the boarding deadline is already moving.
The Carrier Decides Whether The Ticket Can Work
Tokai Kisen says pets must be inside a cage or basket no more than 45cm per side. The pet must fit fully inside, and the face or body must not be visible outside the carrier. The FAQ gives the same basic rule for pets aboard ferries and says the pet should be placed where crew instruct.
